First Day Hike: Varden Conservation Area | Varden Conservation Area, Lake Ariel

First Day Hike takes place at Varden Conservation Area in Lake Ariel on Thursday, January 1, 2026 at 2:00 PM. This guided New Year’s hike follows the Bear Paw Trail on an easy, approximately 1-mile loop designed for a relaxed start to 2026.

Hikers will meet at the Mid Valley Tract parking lot off Mid Valley Road. The trail is relatively flat, but winter conditions may include snow and ice, so sturdy footwear, weather-appropriate clothing, and water are recommended.

Pets are welcome but must remain on a leash. Due to expected snowy terrain, strollers are not recommended. Registration is required.
