Make Your Own Maple Syrup at Salt Springs State Park in Montrose takes place on Saturday, February 7 and 21, 2026 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM, offering a hands-on class that explains the full maple syrup process from start to finish. Led by Jim Hayes, the program shows how syrup can be made at home with access to a maple tree and simple equipment.

Participants learn how to identify sugar maple trees, understand tapping and processing techniques, and explore the history and biology behind this traditional practice. Samples from each phase of production will be available.

The fee is $5, with members and children admitted free. Class size is limited and RSVP is required by emailing eec@saltspringspark.org.
