Maple Sugaring Community Days takes place at the Kettle Creek Environmental Education Center’s Meesing Site in East Stroudsburg on Saturday, March 7, 2026 and Saturday, March 14, 2026, with 90-minute tours beginning between 9:30 AM and 2:00 PM.
Participants take a guided tour through the Meesing sugarbush that highlights the history of maple syrup, from Native American traditions to early settlers in the region. Along the way, visitors learn how maple trees are tapped to collect sap and watch a live demonstration of how sap is cooked down into sweet maple syrup.
The experience wraps up at a pancake station, where the finished syrup is served over freshly made pancakes. Guests are encouraged to dress for the weather and wear shoes suitable for trail walking.
Pre-registration is required by calling 570-629-3061. Cost is $6 for adults and $4 for children under 12, payable the day of the program. Tree sponsors attend free of charge. The program is held at the Meesing Site at 1254 Marshalls Creek Rd., East Stroudsburg.
