Meadows 101: Learn, Plant, Grow | Van Scott Nature Reserve, Beach Lake
Saturday, April 18, 2026 | 10:00 AM
Meadows 101: Learn, Plant, Grow will take place at the Van Scott Nature Reserve in Beach Lake on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at 10:00 AM. This hands-on workshop invites participants to explore the beauty and ecological importance of meadow habitats.
Led by Leigh Allison of Project Meadow and Lucas Green, the Conservancy’s Reserve and Facilities Coordinator, the program will explain what makes the reserve’s hayfields and wildflower meadows healthy and resilient. The session will also cover soil composition and how it can be managed to support native plants.
Participants will then take part in a hands-on planting in the Conservancy’s Preview Garden, learning practical techniques for establishing and maintaining a meadow habitat at home—whether on a large property or in a small backyard space.
