Opening Day at Blue Mountain Resort | Blue Mountain Resort, Palmerton
Friday, December 5, 2025 | 9:00 AM
Opening Day at Blue Mountain Resort in Palmerton on Friday, December 5, 2025, at 9:00 AM kicks off the 2025–26 winter season with the most terrain open in Pennsylvania. Guests can look forward to 30% of the mountain—totaling 40 acres and 13 trails—along with five chairlifts spinning on opening day.
Blue Mountain enters the season with major snowmaking enhancements and 380 upgraded LED trail lights, delivering improved snow quality, faster terrain expansion, and a brighter night skiing experience. New TechnoAlpin TT10 tower-mounted fan guns at the base area and two mobile, fully automated TR10 fan guns help produce snow more efficiently and effectively.
Underground piping improvements on key trails—Shuttle, Frontier Alley, Lower Sidewinder, Lower Lazy, and Tubing Hill 3—have increased water flow and capacity for faster, more consistent coverage. During the first sustained cold snap, the snowmaking team operated 275 snow guns at full capacity to build one of the strongest early season terrain offerings in the region.
Opening day trails include Easy Out, Vista, Burma Road, Shuttle, Barb’s Way, Homestretch, Lower Frontier Alley, Tut’s Lane, Connector, Sky Top, Summit School Hill, Paradise, and Central Park with terrain park features. Three additional trails—Midway, Lower Main Street, and Chute—are expected to open on Sunday, December 7.
Opening day lifts include Summit Conveyor, Frontier Lower Conveyor, Vista Chair, Comet, and Challenge. Snow tubing is expected to open on Thursday, December 11, adding even more winter fun for families and friends.
