Throwdown with Joni Mazzie will take place at the Hazleton Art League in Hazleton on Tuesdays from March 31 through May 19, 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM. This eight-week pottery class introduces participants to the fundamentals of working on the potter’s wheel.
Instructor Joni Mazzie will guide students through the process of throwing clay, trimming pieces and applying glaze to create finished ceramics. Participants will have the opportunity to produce unique keepsake pieces while learning essential pottery techniques.
The class is designed for beginners and those interested in developing their skills in wheel-thrown pottery. Attendees should be prepared to get a little messy while enjoying a creative and hands-on experience.
The program is open to adults and teens ages 16 and older.
Nonmember Cost: $290 (includes $40 material fee)
