3 Ways to Make the Most of Downtown on Ice from Friday, January 16 — Sunday, January 18
At Scranton Tomorrow, we think winter is wonderful! That’s because we love collaborating with community volunteers and partnering with local businesses to present Scranton’s coolest event in the downtown business district: Downtown on Ice. Now in its third year, the festival will be held from January 16 — 18. For three days, festival goers will enjoy ice carving demonstrations, a scavenger hunt, live entertainment and more, all in keeping with a theme devoted to toys!
Here are Three Fun Ways to Make the Most of Your Weekend in the Electric City:
The festival officially kicks off on Friday, Jan. 16 at 6 p.m. on Courthouse Square in Downtown Scranton, and you won’t want to miss it. We don’t want to give too much away, but our sneak peek into the committee’s lineup of entertainment includes music, dance, street performers (and more!) celebrating the festival’s theme. It’s the perfect way to jumpstart the weekend with family and friends of all ages.
Downtown Scranton is home to more than 75 retailers and over 50 restaurants, cafés and pubs, which makes it easy to turn your festival plans into a full day (or night) of wintry fun. In between watching ice carvers at work and embarking on a sculpture scavenger hunt, be sure to explore downtown’s one-of-a-kind shops and exceptional eateries. Whether you like to plan in advance or just wing it, our new Guide to Downtown has you covered. This online directory at scrantontomorrow.org highlights Shopping, Dining, and Day Spas & Salons, all of which are in the festival’s footprint.
Show us how you chill! Sharing your Downtown on Ice moments is a fun and easy way to support the event and the local businesses that help bring the festival to life every year. Snap a selfie with your favorite ice sculpture, show off a great meal, or spotlight a boutique find and be sure to tag us using #ScrantonTomorrow #DowntownonIce.
