Rides, Food, and Fun at the West End Fair in the Poconos
Yesterday, we headed to Gilbert, PA, to soak in the sights, sounds, and flavors of the West End Fair. This annual Pocono Mountains county fair has entertained families for generations. It runs through Saturday, August 23rd, and brings a perfect mix of attractions. Visitors will find thrilling rides, exciting arena shows, endless food stands, and rows of local craft vendors.
First, we explored the barns filled with prize-winning animals. Farmers proudly displayed their hard work, and children enjoyed seeing the livestock up close. Next, we browsed the aisles of handmade goods from regional artisans. It was easy to see the talent and creativity on display. Of course, no fair visit is complete without food. Guests lined up for funnel cakes, candy apples, and plenty of sweet treats.
Later, the atmosphere shifted as the sun dipped low. The arena roared to life during Koi Drag Racing, filling the stands with cheers and excitement. The energy carried through the night, keeping fairgoers on their feet.
Looking ahead, the fair has even more in store. Visitors can expect demolition derbies, tractor pulls, rodeo events, and live music each day. Gates open daily at 2 p.m., so there’s plenty of time to enjoy it all. With food, fun, and tradition, the West End Fair makes summer in the Pocono Mountains unforgettable.
