Raise a Glass to the Arts at F.M. Kirby Fest

You’re invited to sip, savor, and stroll through the F.M. Kirby Center for the Performing Arts during F.M. Kirby Fest!

From 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, April 26, the 7th annual F.M. Kirby Fest presented by Metro brings the pints and pinot back to our performing arts center. Admission includes free food and drink samples, live music throughout the evening, exhibitions by local artists, complementary photos at the Magic Mirror Photo Booth, and a free tasting glass to take home! A full list of amazing vendors can be found below.

Attendees check out auction items displayed on stage at Kirby Fest in Wilkes-Barre, PA.

The event will also feature one of our biggest silent auctions ever, with memorabilia signed by some of the most exciting performers to grace our stage over the past year. Select items will also be available for online bidding, so be sure to check kirbycenter.org closer to April 26 for exact details.

Proceeds from our generous sponsors, ticket sales, and the silent auction directly benefit our in-house community outreach programs, like the Laux Young People’s Theater Series. This annual collection of daytime performances presents fun, exciting and educational shows that are completely free for local students to attend. This school year alone, funds from F.M. Kirby Fest helped nearly 6,000 students experience the arts—many for the first time.

“This program continues to prove its importance in our community and underwriting it is one of our top priorities,” Joell Yarmel, F.M. Kirby Center Executive Director, said. “Programs like this wouldn’t be possible without community support so we’re always grateful to see a full house the night of Kirby Fest.”

F.M. Kirby Fest offers its own first-time-ever experiences to attendees, including chances to step foot onto our stage and explore our newly remodeled downstairs gallery area. The beautiful remodel was recently completed after a devastating flood that gutted the Kirby Center’s bottom floor, leaving it unusable during last year’s F.M. Kirby Fest event. This year, the space will serve as our artist’s alley, an intimate area for guests to take a break from the crowd and take in offerings from some of the best artists our area has to offer.

“We can’t wait to show off the finished space that was under construction during last year’s event,” Joell said. “The gallery is the perfect spot to display local artists’ work, and we really missed showcasing their talent in there.”
