Your Next Visit Just Got Even Better

At the F.M. Kirby Center, we’re constantly striving to deliver the best possible performing arts experience for our fellow community members. The work completed this summer brought us closer to that goal, with a few remarkable changes meant to make your visit even better.

The next time you’re here, you’ll be treated to shorter lines for refreshments, a new concession stand, new digital signage displaying important venue information, and a remodeled downstairs area featuring new bathrooms. We’ve also upgraded The Mohegan Lounge with a premium bar featuring exciting new options for guests with discerning tastes.

We hope you’ll love what we’ve done with the place—and what we’ve scheduled for our stage this fall. To buy tickets or view a full list of upcoming events, visit kirbycenter.org/shows or contact our box office.

Upcoming This October and November
Sam Grisman Project image
Sam Grisman Project

Thursday, October 17 at 7:30 p.m.

Some of Sam Grisman’s earliest memories double as music history. When Sam was a boy, his father, David “Dawg” Grisman, would often invite his friend Jerry Garcia over to jam. Dawg is a world-class mandolin player who’s so good that the Grateful Dead tapped him when they needed the instrument played on tracks like “Friend of the Devil.” After working with the Dead, Dawg formed a friendship and a bluegrass band with Jerry, and Sam formed a lifetime appreciation for the music Dawg created with his friend.

Today, Sam has his own musician friends, and they have their own band that channels the spirit of Dawg and Garcia’s tunes. At the October 17 show in our Chandelier Lobby, expect a fun, intimate performance that pays homage to Sam’s musical heroes with a combination of covers and original songs written in the same vein.
