The Hoyt Library is located in Kingston on Wyoming Avenue, and is a part of the Luzerne County Library System. The history of this library spans nearly a century, and this is no more evident than in the beautiful juxtaposition of the restored original building and its sleek, modern addition completed in 2009.
With a library card, members can sign out books, audiobooks, CDs, DVD’s, magazines, and more. Ebooks are also available through Apple, Kindle, Nook, and Android devices. Visitors have access to several research databases, and digital periodicals and articles can be viewed through the library website.
The library has public computers for use, and free Wi-Fi. Many programs are offered throughout the year including book discussion groups, adult coloring events, story time sessions for children, as well as math and art classes.
There is even an onsite clothing boutique called Alice’s Closet, where members can purchase second-hand apparel and home goods with all sales benefitting the Hoyt Library. Visit the Hoyt Library Monday through Saturday.
