Ancient Deciduous Forest

You’ll find the Jakey Hollow Natural Area, located within the Weiser State Forest, just a few miles north of Bloomsburg in Columbia County.

Spanning 59 acres, it’s a mix of ancient eastern white pine, hemlock, oak, and other hardwood trees. It also provides a critical habitat for many species of birds, white tail deer, and other small animals.

The Ward Crawford Trail, a 0.7-mile out-and-back trail is located with this area. Open year-round, the trail is an easy route perfect for birding and walks with your dog.
