Levee Loop Trail | Scenic Creekside Walking & Biking Trail in Stroudsburg

Levee Loop Trail is a 4.5-mile multi-use path connecting Stroudsburg and East Stroudsburg, PA. The trail follows the flood levee along the scenic Brodhead Creek. With easy terrain and convenient park access, the route offers a peaceful escape close to town. Walkers, runners and cyclists regularly use the trail for recreation and daily exercise.

The trail passes through several community parks along its loop. The main trailhead is located at Dansbury Park. Additional access points include Yetter Park, Creekview Park and Stokes Mill Park. These parks provide convenient entry points and places to stop along the route. The levee path also connects to the Brodhead Greenway near the Mill Creek Bridge. This connection allows visitors to extend their walk or ride through the surrounding greenway system.

The trail features grass and gravel surfaces with mostly flat terrain and slight inclines. Scenic views of Brodhead Creek, wooded areas and nearby bridges add variety to the route. The creek is also a popular fishing spot for visitors exploring the trail.

Levee Loop Trail was constructed along the levee built after the 1955 flood. Today, the structure serves both as flood protection and a recreational trail. The Stroud Region Open Space and Recreation Commission maintains the trail. The organization also hosts community walks and events at the parks along the route. Leashed dogs are welcome on the trail, and visitors are asked to clean up after pets.

Levee Loop Trail offers a convenient creekside route for walking, running and biking between Stroudsburg and East Stroudsburg.
