What began in 1981 with just 50 buckets and an open-fire evaporator has grown into a thriving, family-run operation with more than 14,000 taps. Owners Randy and Jamie Loch have transformed their passion for the outdoors into a celebrated maple farm known for quality, tradition, and community spirit.

A Family Legacy of Sweetness

Visitors can stop by Loch’s Maple Syrup during their annual open house each March to tour the sap house, learn about the syrup-making process, and sample fresh syrup straight from the evaporator. The farm’s on-site store is open seasonally, offering syrup in all grades, along with maple candy, kettle corn, coffee, and tea. Their famous maple milkshakes and cotton candy are local fair favorites that capture the true flavor of NEPA.

From Sap to Syrup

Each spring, the Loch family and their team of “sugarmakers” tap thousands of sugar maple trees across 30 miles of tubing. Using modern evaporators and sustainable techniques, they turn raw sap into rich, golden syrup. The process takes dedication and precision—about 40 gallons of sap are boiled down to create just one gallon of syrup.

In addition to producing award-winning syrup, Loch’s Maple Syrup sells maple-making equipment and proudly supports the Endless Mountains Maple Producers Association. Their products are all-natural, preservative-free, and made with the same care that started it all over four decades ago.
