A designated boat launch makes it easy to explore by kayak or canoe. Because only non-motorized and electric-powered watercraft are permitted, the lake remains quiet and relaxing for everyone.

With nearly 20 miles of well-maintained trails, Moon Lake offers a wide range of outdoor activities. Hikers, mountain bikers, and trail runners explore the trails in warmer months. In winter, snowshoers and cold-weather trekkers take advantage of the same paths. Deer, foxes, turkeys, and birds often appear along the way, so be sure to bring your camera or binoculars. Moon Lake features over 20 miles of singletrack mountain biking trails—from flowy beginner routes to technical rock gardens—and offers hiking, fishing, wildlife viewing, and camping across 12 designated sites and group areas
