Pocono Indian Museum in East Stroudsburg, PA is the only museum in Northeastern PA dedicated to the history of the Delaware Tribe. The museum is housed inside a historic 1840s mansion with deep regional significance. Visitors explore thousands of years of Native American history dating back to 10,500 BC.

The self-guided tour lasts about thirty minutes and uses provided audio devices. Exhibits feature ancient artifacts, weapons, tools and pottery displayed in chronological order. Guests learn about Lenape culture, daily life and spiritual traditions. The museum also examines early European contact and its lasting impact.

The historic building adds another layer of interest to the visit. Over the years, it served as a stagecoach stop, boarding house and rumored Underground Railroad safe house. Later chapters include Prohibition-era stories and restoration efforts that preserved its structure.

Before leaving, guests can browse the gift shop and library area. Items include Native-made jewelry, pottery, books and educational souvenirs.
