As part of the Lackawanna County Library System, the library provides access to thousands of books, DVDs, CDs and more. Visitors are encouraged to explore the library’s full calendar of events, which includes weekly activities, special programs and seasonal crafts.

Children can attend STEM-based workshops during School-Age Fun Time or bring a doll along for American Girl story time. Teens enjoy book discussions and social connection at the Teen Reading Lounge. Adults can participate in creative workshops that encourage new skills and community connection. The library serves as a vibrant space where learning and fun go hand in hand.

Taylor Community Library opened in 1953 thanks to local fundraising and support from the Borough of Taylor. After a fire destroyed the library in 1972, the community came together to rebuild. By 1980, the borough constructed a dedicated facility. In 1982, Taylor joined the Lackawanna County Library System, which helped the library expand its programs and reach. In 2006, the library opened its current location at 710 S. Main Street.

Taylor Community Library offers resources, education and enrichment for all ages in Taylor.
