A Mountain Retreat in Nature

Enjoy a tranquil escape at The Village at Houser’s Crossing – an Anthracite Cultural Landmark located close to Jim Thorpe in Tamaqua, PA. It is truly a unique stay where you can enjoy the outdoors, the river, private railroad crossing and homes that retain their historic charm with all the modern conveniences and luxuries.

You’ll stay on their secluded 10-acre property nestled at the foot of the Wildcat Mountain. There are miles of hiking trails on site, plus 3,400 acres of PA State Game Lands #257 for hiking and hunting that borders the Village. Fish the Little Schuylkill River, which runs through the property, or check out the Reading Blue Mountain & Northern Railroad that passes thru Houser’s Crossing. Plus, the Lehigh & New England Rail Trail is directly across the street.

Enjoy long- or short-term stays in one of their four units. Butchie’s Bungalow and the Tree Top Loft are charming, single dwellings that sleep up to 4. The historic Sears & Roebuck Catalog Home offers a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom that sleeps 6 on the first floor while the separate Penthouse level above sleeps 4.

On-site massages, yoga, fire pits, lawn games, a magical fern meditation garden and a lighted picnic/grove area are just some of the many amenities you can take advantage of during your stay. Plus, when you stay at the Village, you’re just minutes away from Lehigh Gorge, Tuscarora, Locust Lake and Beltzville State Parks, Owl Creek Reservoir, Hawk Mountain, No. 9 Coal Mine and Museum and many other in amazing activities. Hiking, biking, rivers, lakes, shopping, eateries and downtown Jim Thorpe are nearby.
