Thomas Darling Preserve: Pristine Pocono Forests Year-round

Thomas Darling Preserve in Blakeslee is a scenic destination for nature lovers, hikers and photographers year-round. Covering over 2,500 acres of protected Pocono wilderness, the preserve offers a peaceful retreat through marshes, meadows and one of Pennsylvania’s largest spruce forests. Whether you’re looking for a spring hike, a fall foliage walk or a quiet winter day, this NEPA trail delivers unforgettable views in every season.

Scenic Walking Trails Through Diverse Landscapes

The 2.2-mile loop trail is perfect for hikers of all levels, with well-maintained boardwalks keeping feet dry through the wetter areas of the marsh. This scenic walking trail showcases diverse habitats including wetlands, towering evergreens and native shrubs that bloom beautifully in late spring. Visit in May or June to see the landscape come alive with color—or return in October to catch vibrant Northeastern PA fall foliage at its peak. The trail’s serene setting and photogenic views make it an instagrammable favorite for nature photographers and hikers alike.

A Destination for All Seasons

While spring and fall draw hikers for their natural beauty, Thomas Darling Preserve is also a peaceful winter hiking destination. The quiet snow-covered forest offers a different kind of solitude and beauty. The preserve is also open to hunting during regulated seasons. All visitors must follow Pennsylvania State Game Land rules when hunting on the property.

Thomas Darling Preserve is a must-visit for anyone exploring the scenic and wild side of the Pocono Mountains across all four seasons.
