Whitetail Preserve Shooting Range | Clay Shooting & Guided Hunts in Bloomsburg
Whitetail Preserve in Bloomsburg has grown from its origins as a continental-style pheasant hunt into one of Northeastern Pennsylvania’s premier destinations for upland bird hunting and clay target shooting. Established in 1988 by a group of passionate hunters, the Preserve was inspired by a South Dakota pheasant hunt and built on the idea of recreating that exhilarating experience right here in PA. Today, it offers a dynamic mix of field hunting, clay sports, and certified firearms instruction in a welcoming, inclusive setting.
Guided Hunts & Shooting Facilities
The Preserve features professionally guided field hunts for pheasant, chukar, and quail, offering a controlled, skill-focused experience for hunters of all levels. Shooters can also take aim at professionally designed skeet, trap, and sporting clay fields, all of which are fully handicap accessible. These shooting ranges provide a safe and scenic environment to practice, compete, or simply enjoy a day on the course.
Youth Programs & Certified Instruction
Whitetail Preserve is deeply committed to youth engagement and education, proudly supporting young shooters, including those with special needs. It serves as the home range for the Hazleton Area High School Shooting Club, whose members have achieved state championship titles and competed nationally through the Scholastic Clay Target Program. For shooters seeking to sharpen their skills, the Preserve offers instruction year-round with resident NRA-certified instructors in shotgun, rifle, pistol, home safety, and personal protection in the home.
