Hickory Run & Promised Land State Parks to Offer Luxury Glamping Experiences
Spring 2026 will mark a new chapter for outdoor adventures in the Pocono Mountains. The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) has announced that glamping—short for “glamorous camping”—is coming to Hickory Run State Park in Carbon County and Promised Land State Park in Pike County. The two parks, both located in the scenic Pocono Mountains region of Northeastern Pennsylvania, are among eight statewide destinations introducing Pennsylvania’s first-ever glamping accommodations through a partnership with Timberline Glamping Company.

Comfort Meets the Great Outdoors
Glamping blends the rustic charm of camping with modern comfort and convenience. At Hickory Run and Promised Land, guests can expect spacious safari-style tents equipped with real beds, electricity, lighting, heat, and air conditioning. Each site includes stylish décor, outdoor seating, and a fire ring—perfect for stargazing or roasting s’mores. One ADA-accessible tent at each park ensures accessibility for all visitors.
The Timberline sites are designed to offer comfort without sacrificing connection to nature. Whether waking up to the sound of waterfalls at Hickory Run or relaxing lakeside at Promised Land, visitors can immerse themselves in the natural beauty and serenity of the Poconos.

Booking Your Stay
Reservations for the 2026 glamping season are open now. Hickory Run will host glampers April 10 through October 17, while Promised Land’s season runs May 1 through October 11. Guests can book one-night weekday stays or two-night minimums on weekends and holidays. Optional add-ons—like gourmet s’mores kits, local experiences, and board games—connect visitors to nearby small businesses and enhance each stay.
To reserve, visit DCNR’s “Stay the Night” page or go directly to TimberlineGlamping.com.
