Lackawanna River Heritage Trail Guide & Map

The Lackawanna River Heritage Trail stretches over 30 miles through Northeastern Pennsylvania from Pittston and Scranton to Simpson. Along the way, it connects more than 30 communities with parks, historic sites, and river views. At its northern terminus, it links with the D&H Rail-Trail, offering nearly 40 more miles endless opportunities for walking, biking, and exploring NEPA’s history and natural beauty.

For over 20 years, the Lackawanna Heritage Valley Authority (LHVA) has partnered with local organizations to preserve history, celebrate culture, and develop the 70-mile Lackawanna River Heritage Trail. By becoming a member or “Heritage Partner,” you’ll help fund historic preservation, education, and community programs.
