Montage Mountain Resort Kicks Off 2-Day, End-of-Season Party
Earlier today, we had the opportunity to stop by Montage Mountain Resort’s Annual Mountainfest. The popular season finale featured Preston & Steve’s Annual Cardboard Classic. And while the wild, homemade sleds were the stars of Friday’s early festivities, there were plenty of reasons to be on the mountain all day.
The slopes were open to skiers and snowboarders at 9 am and, by 10, the lineup of crazy cardboard contraptions was funneling down the mountain. Aside from the main event, visitors gathered around campfires at Montage’s Midland and near the WMMR 93.3 live broadcast stage. And as the sled action picked up, the crowd swarmed the finish line. The event also featured dozens of craft and food vendors. And the dining room and bar at Slocum Hollow also served as a welcomed temporary escape from the cold.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a traditional Mountainfest without great live music. And while we stopped by a bit early, a full lineup of local bands, along with main stage headliners, Everclear, were set to rock the mountain all afternoon.
The party continues on Saturday from 9 am to close. Mountainfest Day 2 will include Pond Skimming, more food and drink, vendors, campfires and open slopes all day. Saturday’s live music lineup features national recording artists Lit and Fuel along with popular local musicians. Then, as always, Mountainfest will close with an incredible fireworks display set to light up the entire mountain.
General admission tickets are available for Mountainfest’s all-ages, main stage concerts. All Mountainfest lift tickets, snowtubing tickets and 2023 Season Passes include concert entry. Montage will be open for regular resort activities on both days from 9 am – 9 pm.
We stopped by Mountainfest on an uncharacteristically sunny Friday morning. Of course, as always, we brought the camera along for the ride. Check it out.
