Protecting the Beautiful Back Mountain

Forest Echo Bird Sanctuary in Dallas is a 17-acre nature preserve that is owned by North Branch Land Trust and is open to the public. The property originally belonged to Rachel and Dr. Sarah Wyckoff as a summer retreat. The Wyckoffs later entrusted the property to Wyoming Seminary, asking them to preserve and maintain it as a bird sanctuary. In 2013, North Branch Land Trust purchased the property from Wyoming Seminary to further protect it.

Forest Echo Bird Sanctuary provides a key habitat for wildlife and crucial watershed protection for the nearby Huntsville Reservoir. Visitors can access the sanctuary off of West Center Hill Road about a mile off of Route 415 in Dallas.
