Birdwatchers often bring binoculars, as the preserve supports nearly 160 bird species throughout the year. Jonas Creek flows through the property, fed by cold-water springs that form the headwaters of a Class A trout stream. Catch-and-release trout fishing is popular during the season. The creek’s clean water and shaded banks create an inviting setting for anglers.
Parking is available at the end of Rainbow Terrace, with additional pedestrian access points along Gower Road. Visitors are encouraged to carry out all trash to help preserve the landscape.
