Kurmes Paradise Creek Nature Preserve in Cresco, PA offers a spacious natural setting for hiking, biking and outdoor exploration. Managed by Pocono Heritage Land Trust, this 400-acre preserve protects diverse habitats and quiet forest landscapes. The property supports a variety of low-impact recreational activities throughout the year.
Paradise Valley Road divides the preserve into two distinct sections. The northern section is the larger area and features a 1.9-mile loop trail. Hikers and bikers travel through dense forest, riparian areas and seasonal vernal pools. Rhododendron and mountain laurel add seasonal color when in bloom. This section is also a popular spot for catch-and-release fishing.
The southern section offers shorter out-and-back trails through upland forest. These trails provide a quieter walking experience and are accessed from Phoebe Snow Road. Wildlife viewing is common across both sections.
Public hunting is permitted during select seasons, following Pennsylvania Game Commission regulations. Bear season and the two-week rifle deer season are excluded. Visitors are asked to carry out all trash to protect the landscape.
