Welcome to The Comm.
The Waverly Community House is a staple in the Abingtons. For more than 95 years, “the Comm” as it’s affectionately called, has provided local families a place for recreation, fellowship, and community involvement.
The myriad of events held at the Comm throughout the year offer opportunities to socialize with members of the community. The Artisan’s Marketplace, Greenhouse and Kitchen Show, Cocktails for the Courts, and the Comm Classic Golf Tournament, are just a few of the annual events.
There are also many children’s programs such as the Santa and Bunny Breakfasts, Valentine’s Day and Halloween parties, and the Comm Square Fair. Art classes, basketball clinics, and music classes are among the other programs offered throughout the school year.
Summers at the Comm are also very busy with programs such as Comm Camp, a six-week long summer camp for children ages 3-13, Camp Create, a two-week long special needs camp, and Princess Dance Camp.
The Comm is home to many local businesses and exhibits including the Comm Kids After School Program, the Devine School of Dance, the Waverly Preschool, and the Waverly Fine Arts Gallery. Stop by the visitors’ center to gain some insight into NEPA, and head up to the archives to learn about the history of the Comm and its surrounding areas.
A recent addition to the Comm is an interactive walking tour that highlights local houses and buildings that were utilized as a part of the Underground Railroad.
