Downtown Wilkes-Barre’s Popular, Annual Arts Festival Returns with Live Music, Lots of Local Art and Plenty of Food
This afternoon, we headed to downtown Wilkes-Barre for a quick peek at the 67th Annual Fine Arts Fiesta on Public Square. The city has attracted local artists and enthusiasts to the popular and free, four-day event since the 1950s. And, by the looks of today’s lunch crowd, there are certainly no signs of slowing down.
All of the art-fueled fun runs through Sunday. Friends and families can enjoy an Artists’ Market and Sale, Juried Adult & Student Exhibitions, Wyoming Valley Art League Members Exhibition, Verve Virtu Exhibition and Sale and the Wyoming Valley Bonsai Society Exhibition. Of course, there’s also plenty of local food vendors on hand to dish out all those festival favorites.
You can catch local, live music and various performances all weekend long. And you definitely won’t want to miss the free show by alt-rock superstars, the Spin Doctors tonight at 7.
For a full list of displays and performances, visit the Fine Arts Fiesta website or follow along on social media.
Note: Free parking is available at the Irem Temple lot on North River Street after 5 p.m. on Friday and all day on Saturday & Sunday.
We enjoyed our walk around Public Square today. Of course, we brought the camera along for the ride. Check it out!
