Penguins Rally at Military Appreciation Night in Wilkes-Barre
This past weekend, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins took the ice for Military Appreciation Night at Mohegan Arena at Casey Plaza, combining high-energy hockey with heartfelt recognition. Before the opening puck drop, attention turned to center ice for a moving color guard presentation. Active service members and veterans were honored as the crowd rose in applause, filling the arena with a shared sense of gratitude and respect.
Once the game was underway, the Penguins delivered plenty of action. Facing a two-goal deficit against the Bridgeport Islanders, the team battled back with determination, shifting momentum and energizing the crowd with every big play.
Between periods, the tribute continued. Local heroes were featured on the video board, and fans paused to watch interviews and highlights before heading to the concourse for photos and refreshments.
In Wilkes-Barre, events like this resonate beyond the scoreboard. The excitement of Penguins hockey paired with meaningful recognition made for a memorable night at Mohegan Arena.
