Celebrating America250PA with Bells Across PA in Northeastern PA
As the United States approaches its 250th anniversary in 2026, America250PA’s Bells Across PA project is turning communities into open-air galleries. Across all 67 counties, three-foot-tall fiberglass bells have been transformed into public works of art by Pennsylvania artists, each one sponsored locally and inspired by the stories that shape its home county.
The initiative invited artists from across the Commonwealth — from established professionals to student groups — to submit original designs that reflect Pennsylvania’s past, present and future. Once selected, artists brought their visions to life on blank bell sculptures that will remain on display through December 31, 2026. Each bell unveiling was celebrated locally, adding to the excitement surrounding America’s 250th birthday.
In Northeastern PA, these bells highlight the creativity and civic pride found throughout our 10-county footprint. From historical associations and healthcare centers to parks and community organizations, each location offers a chance to experience public art while connecting with local history.
