Live Music, Delicious Eats, and Festive Fun at SBC’s Oktoberfest
This past Saturday, Susquehanna Brewing Company in Pittston, ushered in the fall season with an unforgettable Oktoberfest celebration. From noon to 9 p.m., the brewery was buzzing with flowing beer, mouthwatering food, live music, and an electric atmosphere. But the real showstopper? The Wiener Dog Races.
The Wiener Dog Races were the undeniable highlight of the day. Adorable dachshunds raced down the track, moving at lightning speed as the crowd cheered them on. Each race was a perfect blend of friendly competition and pure, unfiltered joy. Whether they crossed the finish line first or last, every pup received a warm round of applause, adding a touch of humor and heart to the event.
While the dachshunds were undoubtedly the stars, the fun didn’t stop there. The Schützengiggles Oompah Band kept the energy alive with traditional German tunes, bringing a festive vibe to every corner of the brewery. Food trucks like Cibo’s, J&A Farms, and the Lunchbox dished out everything from bratwurst to soft pretzels — each bite a perfect pairing with Susquehanna’s seasonal craft beers.
Susquehanna Brewing Company’s Oktoberfest was a celebration of community, delicious food, and good times. While the Wiener Dog Races may have stolen the show, the lively atmosphere, great eats, and festive games ensured that everyone had a blast. If you missed out on this year’s event, don’t worry. Mark your calendars for next year’s Oktoberfest! You won’t want to miss it.
