Mission Statement
Our mission is to positively enrich the lives of today’s youth and adults through the camp experience in a safe environment by exposing campers to new adventures, ideas, environments, and education while having fun and creating lifelong friends and memories.
The Friends of Camp Louise is a nonprofit that is raising funds to purchase a former Girl Scout camp in Shickshinny. The beloved camp closed in 2016, and the group hopes to reopen it so future generations can explore the outdoors and experience the joy of camping.
Camp Louise is located on a 340-acre property beside a scenic lake and Jonestown Mountain. The Friends hope to open the camp, not just for Scouts, but for the entire community. The camp will teach children about the environment, stewardship and outdoor recreation.
Each donation puts the Friends of Camp Louise one step closer to purchasing the property and restoring its buildings and facilities. Donate, attend a fundraising event or join as a member to keep Camp Louise’s traditions alive.
