Mission Statement
It is the mission of the Riverfront Parks Committee to improve the quality of life in the region through the rehabilitation, enhancement and preservation of three historic and natural parklands along the Susquehanna River: River Common, Kirby Park Natural Area and Nesbitt Park. We encourage environmental awareness and stewardship through the development of educational programs, and offer the region a safe, clean and unique natural setting for year-round recreation.

Riverfront Parks Committee is a nonprofit organization in Wilkes-Barre, PA that oversees the care and programming of River Common, Kirby Park, and Nesbitt Park. Formed by a group of citizens, local business leaders, and city officials, the committee works to reconnect the community with the Susquehanna River and ensure easy access to downtown green spaces for all.
