Scranton Counseling Center in Scranton is a private, nonprofit behavioral health provider offering accessible, community-based care for over 75 years. Dedicated to improving the lives of children, teens, and adults in Lackawanna, Susquehanna, and neighboring counties, this full-continuum organization delivers high-quality treatment regardless of ability to pay.

Their expert team offers comprehensive behavioral health services to individuals facing mental health conditions, behavioral challenges, and co-occurring substance use disorders. Every program is designed to promote healing, resilience, and long-term well-being in a safe, supportive environment.

Inclusive Services for All Ages

Through its ACSA (Advanced Community Service Associates) division, the center provides therapy, psychological assessments, psychiatric evaluations, and advanced treatments such as transcranial magnetic stimulation and Spravato. Clients can find support for anxiety, depression, ADHD, eating disorders, OCD, panic, grief, trauma, and more.

The 24-hour Crisis Receiving & Stabilization Unit (CRSU), located at 329 Cherry Street in Scranton, offers urgent walk-in help for individuals in crisis who need immediate support but not hospitalization. The 8-bed unit connects guests to community resources and stabilizing care in a compassionate setting.

Programs That Empower & Uplift

Scranton Counseling Center offers a full range of adult and youth-focused services. Adult programs include Assertive Community Treatment, Blended Case Management, and psychiatric rehabilitation through the Possibilities Program.

Child and adolescent services span school-based care, early intervention, emergency crisis services, forensic services, and therapy. Katie’s Place Clubhouse and the Partial Hospitalization Program offer structured support for developmental and psychiatric needs.
