Victims Resource Center provides a comprehensive range of services to meet the special needs of crime victims, to address issues of violence on an individual and community level and to increase the understanding of the impact of crime on victims to improve their quality of care.

Victims Resource Center | Support, Advocacy & Healing Across Northeast PA

The Victims Resource Center is a nonprofit organization providing free, confidential support to victims of all types of crime throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania. Since 1974, the center has helped individuals navigate the painful transition from victim to survivor. With offices in Wilkes-Barre, Conyngham, Tunkhannock and Lehighton, Victims Resource Center offers compassionate care, education and advocacy to those impacted by violence, abuse and other crimes.

Comprehensive Victim Services

The center provides a 24-hour hotline, crisis intervention, peer support groups and advocacy services. Trained counselors assist with safety planning, emotional recovery and help navigating medical, legal and court systems. Services extend beyond the individual to include support for family members and friends affected by the crime. All services reflect the organization’s core values of dignity, equality and respect.

Regional Offices & Specialized Support

  • In Carbon County, the Lehighton office assists victims of sexual violence as well as victims of crimes committed by juveniles.
  • In Luzerne County, offices in Wilkes-Barre and Conyngham support victims of sexual violence and other serious crimes, along with their families and friends.
  • In Wyoming County, the Tunkhannock office provides services for victims of sexual violence, domestic violence and other crimes, also extending care to loved ones affected.

Community Education & Prevention

Beyond direct support, Victims Resource Center works to prevent violence through community education. Programs raise awareness, promote safety and help build supportive, informed communities where every person has the right to live free from violence and oppression.

Victims Resource Center delivers trusted, trauma-informed support and education to individuals and families impacted by crime throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania.
