Big Day Out begins at the Pocono Whitewater Adventure Center in Jim Thorpe on select dates from Saturday, April 18, 2026 through Saturday, October 3, 2026, with a 9:00 AM start time for a full-day, multi-sport adventure.

The day kicks off with check-in at the Adventure Center, where participants can fuel up with freshly brewed coffee or a breakfast sandwich from the Broken Paddle Bar & Grill. After meeting the guides and reviewing the plan for the day, the adventure moves into motion.

The first leg features a 23-mile ride along the D&L Trail on a quality TREK bike through Lehigh Gorge State Park, with the Lehigh River running alongside the route and dramatic cliffs rising overhead. Riders then break at Glen Onoko Park in Jim Thorpe for a trail lunch by the river before heading out for a hike to a panoramic vista.

The grand finale is a dam-release whitewater rafting trip on the Lehigh River, where paddlers take on exciting rapids and pass remnants of historic dams and locks. After the action, participants return to Pocono Whitewater to unwind with a hot dinner, a bonfire, and a complimentary first beer or soda.
