The day begins in Jim Thorpe, where participants and their bikes board the Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway. The one-hour train ride travels 25 miles along the Lehigh River, passing Glen Onoko and following the former Lehigh Valley main line to White Haven.

Once dropped at the trailhead in White Haven, riders pedal 25 miles back to Jim Thorpe along the Lehigh Gorge Rail Trail at their own pace. The mostly downhill route features canal remnants, scenic overlooks, railroad trestles, swimming areas, and multiple waterfalls along the way.
