Pastel Drawing 101 at The Art Factory of White Mills in White Mills takes place on Saturday, January 17 and Saturday, February 21 from 10:30 AM to 12 PM, plus a Sunday session on March 15 from 2:30 PM to 4 PM. This beginner friendly class introduces participants to the basics of creating vibrant images with pastels, using soft sticks of powdered pigment to build color, texture and depth.
Students will learn essential pastel techniques including blending, feathering, hatching, cross hatching, masking and stippling. Instruction is designed to be approachable and hands on, making it a great option for beginners while still offering useful skills for anyone looking to strengthen their drawing practice.
Each class costs $50 and offers a relaxed studio setting that encourages creativity and confidence. Participants are welcome to bring a friend or two and enjoy a fun, focused session of learning and making art together.
