Small Business Support Hikes takes place at Salt Springs State Park near Montrose on Saturday, August 15 and Sunday, August 16, 2026, beginning with a Saturday meet-up by 11:00 AM at the park’s main office, the historic Wheaton House (GPS: 41.9119, -75.86553). Hosted by the Endless Mountains Heritage Region, this is an overnight hiking weekend that pairs guided trail time with local community support.
On Saturday, hikers will take on the Salt Springs State Park Outer Loop Trail, a six-mile route considered difficult, with a paced, take-your-time approach. Sunday’s hike follows the Salt Springs State Park Loop, approximately 3.5 miles and rated moderate.
Participants should come prepared with appropriate hiking shoes or boots, weather-ready clothing, and enough water for both days. Overnight camping gear is required, including a tent, sleeping bag, and flashlight, and hikers should also plan to bring trail lunch and snacks.
Registration is $20, covering dinner while supporting Anthony’s Restaurant in Montrose, and includes a donation to Salt Springs Park, which is managed by the Friends of Salt Springs Park and volunteers. Registration closes Tuesday, August 11, 2026.
