Spring Bird Walks takes place at Locust Lake State Park in Barnesville on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at 8:00 AM. Led by experienced birders Thomas Buehl Jr. and Tonia Jordan, this guided walk offers an engaging introduction to local and migratory songbirds.
Participants will meet at the visitor parking lot before heading out on the trails to observe a variety of bird species in their natural habitats. Throughout the walk, attendees will learn how to identify birds by sight, song, behavior and preferred environments.
This educational program is ideal for both beginners and experienced birders looking to expand their knowledge while enjoying a peaceful morning outdoors. Guests are encouraged to bring binoculars for the best viewing experience.
The walk is weather dependent and will take place in fair conditions only. Please note that pets are not permitted. Registration is required by calling 570-900-3336.
