Winter Bird Walk at Vosburg Neck State Park in Tunkhannock takes place on Friday, February 27, 2026 at 10:00 AM, inviting participants to bundle up for a slow-paced outing on the River and Canal Trails to look and listen for winter birdlife.
While many people think of migration as a fall event, plenty of birds remain in the area year-round, and some species are easier to spot in winter than at other times of the year. With less foliage on the trees, this season offers clearer views and more opportunities to catch movement and hear calls.
The walk will cover an approximately 1.5-mile loop on relatively flat terrain, with a focus on observation rather than speed. A limited number of binoculars will be available to borrow.
In the event of inclement weather, the program will be canceled, with updates posted on the park’s Facebook page.
