Runners Flood Pottsville for One of NEPA’s Most-Famous 5K’s
The promise of 5K glory and maybe a free beer or two lured scores of striders to Downtown Pottsville on Saturday for the 11th Annual Yuengling Light Lager Jogger. The race kicked off at 9 a.m., drawing a course along stately Mahantongo Street. And as runners looped back across the finish line, they joined the traditional post-race block party at the Yuengling Brewery.
Dozens of local vendors lined the streets offering running gear, plenty of food and treats. Racers (some costumed) and spectators milled about, plastic cups of refreshing beer and cool DiscoverNEPA swag in hand. Live music by Pottsville party band favorites, Hooligan filled the celebratory air. Once again, America’s oldest brewery put together another amazing, festive race day.
And we were there for all of it. Of course, we brought the camera along to capture all the action. Check it out!
