Discover the value of lifelong learning
When the Abington Community Library in Clarks Summit opened in 1960, its collection only had 75 books. Today, the library boasts thousands of books, magazines, CDs, DVDs, and audiobooks for all ages.
With your library card, you’ll be able to access plenty of tech resources. The library even offers one of the Lackawanna County Library System’s Creation Stations, a computer lab featuring Adobe design software and a 3D printer.
The events calendar is jam-packed with classes and clubs. Get your creative juices flowing at a writing workshop or unleash your DIY skills at the crafting classes. The kids will love the after-school clubs, which include themes like Lego, Minecraft, and American Girl. If you’re thinking of expanding your personal library, check out the semi-annual book sale, held across the street from the library at the Clarks Summit United Methodist Church.
