Abington Community Library | Lifelong learning & creativity in Clarks Summit

Abington Community Library in Clarks Summit has been a trusted resource for readers and learners since it was founded in 1960. What began with just 75 books has grown into a vibrant community destination offering thousands of books, audiobooks, magazines, CDs and DVDs for all ages. This community library blends tradition with innovation, creating a welcoming environment for education, connection and exploration.

Visitors with a library card can access far more than the shelves. The library features one of the Lackawanna County Library System’s Creation Stations, a computer lab equipped with Adobe design software and a 3D printer. From graphic design to 3D modeling, it’s a space for hands-on creativity and digital learning.

They also offers a robust calendar of events. Adults can join writing workshops, book clubs and DIY craft classes, while kids enjoy after-school clubs themed around Lego, Minecraft and American Girl. Don’t miss the semi-annual book sale, hosted across the street at the Clarks Summit United Methodist Church.

Abington Community Library continues to provide engaging resources, programs and creative opportunities for the Clarks Summit community.
