The Mountains Are Calling

Ski NEPA’s magnificent Endless Mountains at Elk Mountain Ski Resort in Union Dale. Located just 30 miles north of Scranton, Elk (as locals call it) sports a formidable 925-foot vertical drop. Skiers and snowboarders can spread out over 27 trails, which include 2 terrain parks and 11 black diamond trails. All the action on the slopes moves along quite smoothly with 7 lifts including 5 doubles, 1 quad and a tow rope.

At Elk Mountain’s Ski School, over 75 professional instructors are on hand to offer lessons for first-time skiers, and basic to advanced skills training for seasoned skiers and snowboarders. Equipment rentals are also available at the ski and snowboard shop.

When it’s time to put away the skis and recharge, come in from the cold to the Winter Garden Restaurant for everything from burgers and sandwiches to salads and steaks.
