Penn State Schuylkill, a campus of the Pennsylvania State University, offers an outstanding student experience, focusing on academic excellence, experiential learning and civic and community engagement. Small class sizes with professors—not graduate assistants—who teach the courses and the benefits of a Big 10 University are hallmarks of the campus.
Penn State Schuylkill offers nine baccalaureate and four associate degrees. Students may complete all four years at the Schuylkill campus, or participate in the 2+2 program with a choice of 160+ majors by continuing at any one of the Penn State campuses, including University Park.
Our faculty to student ratio is 14 to 1 and our average class size is 18 students. This means that you will have more opportunities to interact one-on-one with your dedicated teachers and participate in lively classroom discussions.
Our students apply their knowledge through real-world experiences, including exciting internship opportunities at NASA, INTERPOL, TV and radio stations, area businesses, and more. You also may participate in any of the 300+ Penn State study abroad programs. Another advantage is the opportunity to collaborate with faculty on innovative research, such as sustainability research in Costa Rica, drone physics, and the cultural and linguistic impact of world events that enrich and expand the Penn State Schuylkill experience.
As one of the oldest Penn State campuses with a legacy that began in 1934, the campus continues to prepare students for early career success and a lifelong love of learning.
