Glen Run Nature Preserve | Forest trails & scenic views in Stroudsburg

Glen Run Nature Preserve in Stroudsburg, PA features four miles of hiking and biking trails across protected woodland. Managed by Pocono Heritage Land Trust, this 182-acre preserve offers quiet outdoor recreation close to town. The setting supports exploration, wildlife observation and seasonal scenery.

Trail users enjoy winding paths through dense forest. Mountain bikers appreciate the natural terrain and varied trail flow. Hikers experience peaceful routes with occasional elevation changes. Godfrey Ridge provides scenic overlooks with views of Stroudsburg below. Southern viewpoints offer seasonal birdwatching opportunities during migration.

The preserve also holds historical interest. Visitors can see the foundation of the former Churleigh Inn near the northern edge of the property. This site adds a layer of local history to the outdoor experience. A small stream runs through the preserve, supporting catch-and-release fishing with artificial lures only.

Activities include hiking, mountain biking, birding and nature study. No hunting is permitted within the preserve. Parking access is available off Bangor Mountain Road for convenient entry.
