The Country Club of Scranton | Timeless Golf and Private Club Tradition in Clarks Summit
The Country Club of Scranton in Clarks Summit offers 27 holes of championship golf and a tradition-rich private club experience that blends recreation, dining and social connection. Originally designed by renowned architect Walter Travis in 1927, the club’s first 18 holes are lauded for their rolling, wave-like greens and classic layout. In 1988, the course was expanded with an additional nine holes designed by Dr. Michael Hurdzan. Together, these three nines—The Pines, The Willows and The Falls—combine to create three distinct 18-hole layouts: The Old, North and South courses.
Ranked among Golf Week’s “Top 100 Classical Courses” in 2013, the club also features a large multi-tiered putting green, full practice range with target greens and a dedicated pitching and chipping area. Its professional golf program includes private instruction, group clinics, weekly round robins and a well-developed junior program, supported by a full PGA staff team. Members of all ages and skill levels benefit from instruction designed to enhance every aspect of their game.

The 4,500-square-foot pool complex features water elements, a 50-foot twisting slide and a family-friendly Party Zone, while the Oasis Pool Bar opens on weekends and during special events. The Clubhouse is also a center of social life, with a variety of casual and fine dining options served in Restaurant Eighteen96, the Patio and Locker Room. Seasonal menus are also offered at the Pool and Halfway House. Friday Happy Hours feature live entertainment and rotating drink specials.
