A Never-Ending Search for the Perfect NEPA Pierogi
For so many in NEPA, pierogies are a springtime staple. In many cases, the tradition goes back to grandma’s kitchen table. We helped her roll out the dough to the perfect consistency. Everyone had a turn at being the filling scooper. And, to a kid, it seemed like all the world rested on the ability to get that pinch just right.
From there, it was all about the distinct, thick smell of boiling dough, soft and creamy potato and cheese filling, the sweetness of browned onions and warm, melted butter rolling down your chin.
Ok, so we’re a bit removed from Grandma’s kitchen these days, but if you’re craving traditional, authentic Polish pierogi, you’ve got to check out this list of can’t miss NEPA pierogi spots.
