Central Railroad of New Jersey Train Station
The visitor center is located inside the former Central Railroad of New Jersey station. Built in 1868, the Victorian-style brick building once served rail passengers and the anthracite coal industry. Passenger service ended in the 1960s and the station later closed. Over the years, the building housed restaurants, nightlife venues and offices. After being added to the National Register of Historic Places, it was restored and reopened in 2022 as the Luzerne County Visitors Bureau.
