Annual Luzerne County Fair Returns to Dallas, PA
This September, the 63rd Annual Luzerne County Fair returns to start the fall season in NEPA with rides, food and entertainment. From Wednesday, September 3 through Sunday, September 7, this family-friendly agricultural tradition draws thousands to the Back Mountain for five days of classic county fair fun. Visitors can enjoy delicious fair food, adorable animals, prize-winning exhibits, thrilling rides, carnival games, and live entertainment—all included with admission.
Admission is just $10 for all ages Friday through Sunday, and parking is always free. Special deal days make the fair even more affordable. On Opening Day, Wednesday, September 3, admission is only $8, with kids under 36 inches always admitted free. Thursday, September 4, is Senior Citizen Day, when guests 62 and older receive entry for just $5. Super Savings Sunday on September 7 offers extra discounts, including $2 off for first responders and veterans with valid ID, and $2 off when you donate a non-perishable food item to support the local food bank.
On Saturday night, September 6, stick around as the sun goes down—because at 9:30 p.m., Pyro Jo will light up the sky with a spectacular fireworks show, a tradition fairgoers look forward to every year.

One of the highlights of the Luzerne County Fair is its strong emphasis on agriculture and farming. The fairgrounds come alive with displays of local produce, livestock and farming demonstrations. Don’t miss the 4-H exhibits, where local youth present prize-winning livestock and crafts. Get ready to end your fair day with a bang! On Saturday, September 6, the Luzerne County Fair will feature an incredible fireworks show by Pyro Jo at 9:30 p.m. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, the fireworks will move to Sunday night at 8:30 p.m.
Held under the livestock tent near the Arena on Saturday, September 6, at 6:00 p.m., the annual open auction starts with youth market livestock and continues with animal tack, farm & yard tools, and equipment. Not a farmer? Stop by anyway! The auction also features handbags, wallets, purses, sunglasses and other items. Enter is through Gate B off Yalick Road.
